Winter Wonderland in Big Bear

My brother and new sister in law held their wedding in Big Bear, California at the beginning of December so my husband and I made the journey from Hawaii up the snowy California mountain to celebrate. It was definitely a winter wonderland with snow everywhere and Christmas light glistening off of it.

Once we drove up the mountain, we headed to Embers Lodge and Cabin to stay the night before the wedding. It was such a beautiful sight seeing the cabins surrounded by white snow. Our cabin came with a fire place which we totally would have taken advantage of if we were staying longer. It was such a cute cozy stay! Fun fact: on Embers website it lists the cabins were used to lodge movie stars and the crew back in the 1930’s!

Another great place to stay is the Lodge which was set up more like a hotel than our cabin we stayed in. My sister and her husband stayed at the Lodge so we headed over (under a 10 min drive) to meet up and explore.

We came across Big Bear Lake Village and it really felt like a Christmas town. There was a giant tree decorated with ornaments and lights near a restaurant we ate at (and basically had to ourselves). It was rainy during the beginning half of the day so it probably cleared everyone out.

I should include before I go on too much that the family went to Knott’s Merry Christmas craft fair which opened part of the theme park for guests to walk around and buy crafts, listen to carolers, and enjoy festive treats. It is truly special to us because we use to do this as kids with our family.

Back to Big Bear, the day of the wedding came and it was held in a beautiful cabin with an upstairs game room, bar, kitchen, and several rooms. I was eyeing these cupcakes all night!

My husband was seriously a trooper entertaining himself while I helped with hair and makeup. I am wearing a red dress by ASOS that I found on Poshmark last minute! (Now listed here in my closet)! I also linked a dress similar from Asos here.

After the wedding we drove down the mountain (slowly!) to prepare to leave the next morning back to Hawaii. Big Bear was amazing and just what we needed to get in the holiday spirit as well as celebrate my brother and new sister in law with family.

I love wearing my hair long and shorter (options!) , so when I do wear it long I get asked which extensions to get. I have been liking the Barefoot Blonde Clip ins for easy application and easy take out similar to the look I had in these photos.
